Neurology is the medical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves). For the accuracy of this diagnosis, the neurologist may indicate the following investigations: lumbar puncture and analysis of cerebrospinal fluid, electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), electroneurogram (ENG), radiological examination (radiography of the skull and spine), cervical vascular Doppler- cerebral tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) of the brain or spinal cord.
